Midori ran a hand through her short hair, trying to tame her bed head before realizing there was really no point. If not for the fact that she had gotten stuck in the rain the previous night and then fallen asleep while still damp she would have been fine. But, now? Plopping back down on her pillow, she reached blindly for her cell phone so she could give Kuroki a quick message saying she was going to have to skip work unless she was absolutely needed, because, as another sneeze, followed by a pained groan, she was in no shape to be around other people at the moment.
Her parents had gotten back from Russia the other day, and yesterday had been the first time she had gotten a chance to go visit them, and, not expecting it to rain, she hadn't taken an umbrella. And then she missed the bus back, and had to walk the fifteen minutes back to the base in the rain. Which, of course, ended up making her sick. Joy.

Ryosuke paused at the door, a get well card and rose in hand. Even though he'd buried his feelings, he still felt apprehensive....but then shook his head, deciding to plunge in anyway. He knocked on the door.

Midori threw cell phone back onto the stand - carefully of course - and lay back on her bed, waiting. She knew at least one person would show up at her door sooner or later, once they found out she was sick. It tended to happen. It was usually Kazuko, who showed up to tell her to get better, and get her things she needed, like tissues, or tea, or whatever. The girl really was a sweet heart.
So, the knock on the door maybe ten minutes later wasn't really surprising. She tugged a too large jumper over her head, before shoving her feet into her slippers, and made her way to the door. She glanced in her mirror near the door, almost groaning at how pale she looked, but, didn't. Instead, she just opened the door, letting out a little "oh" at the sight of Sakurada-kun with a card and rose.

"Hi." Ryosuke gave, cheerfully. "Heard you got sick....here." he gave, awkwardly. handing her the rose and the card.
Inside, it was written:
Midori-chan,
Get well soon, if you need anything, let me know. You do so much for us already....it's the least we can do.
-Sakurada, Ryosuke Red Buster.

Midori gave a little laugh, "Hi to you, too. Thanks." She said, taking the card and the rose. Reading the inside of the card, she smiled. "Sakurada-kun... Thank you." She said, looking up at him, and giving a smile. She wasn't used to being acknowledged like that, not by Sakurada at least. She'd always thought he seemed a little.. cold, kind of. But, this was just sweet of him.

Ryosuke rubbed the back of his head a little....she referred to him with that suffix. He supposed he should be used to it....but he smiled instead. "You're welcome.." he gave softly, falling silent, looking around the small room.

Midori smiled. "You can come in, if you want." She said, not really caring much about the state of her room. It was the same as it always was; posters of bands on one wall, book case with manga and dvd's along the same wall, and then on the other, a small desk with her laptop and a small portable dvd player her parents had bought her for Christmas. Her bed was kind of a mess, but, she had just been sleeping up until about a half hour ago, and she was sick. She was, however, smart enough to have a few floor pillows around the relatively small kotatsu.

((ooc: I'm not going to take up the entire thread, but it would be nice if he left there as actual friends with her, maybe they talk about things.))
Ryosuke sighed slightly. "Sure." he gave, reaching down and removing his combat boots, taking them off. He smiled a bit, looking at the manga and dvds. He watched some of them too, but never told anyone.

(Of course ^^)
Midori smiled a little, setting the card and rose on her bed side stand, and for a little bit, she had forgotten she was sick... Until she sneezed again. Groaning, she reached for a tissue, and blew her nose, trying not to be too loud, before throwing it into the trash, smiling sheepishly at Ryosuke. "Sorry 'bout that." She said, bringing the tissues over to the kotatsu, sitting down at it. "Anything you want to talk about?" She asked.

Ryosuke sat near the kotatsu, on the floor in a meditative position. "Well...I suppose so." he gave, telling her of his initial dilemma, what he felt where she was concerned, etc. "But, I'm not so confused anymore." he paused for a moment, looking at her.

She listened, nodding when necessary, really surprised at what he was telling her. She had honestly never even noticed, or thought anything of the like. Then again, she generally didn't notice when someone liked her... "I'm glad you told me." She told him, softly. It was kind of weird, "And I'm glad you're not so confused anymore." She really, though, wasn't sure what else to say. What did you say when someone pretty much tells you that they had been crushing on you, and now weren't, more or less.

"The reason why I stopped...well. I heard about that date you had. Seems it was a success...so I stepped away and didn't dwell on what I couldn't have, even though I dislike who you had the date with." Ryosuke said simply.

Midori nodded in understanding. She knew the feeling... She had once had a guy friend she kind of liked start dating a girl she wasn't on good terms with. In the end she ended up friends with her, and not him, so, it worked. Kind of. "I'm glad you respect the fact that I like him, even if you don't." She said, kind of glad her cheeks were red from being sick; it hid the blush she could feel when mentioning liking Jin. "Besides, I'm sure - no, I know - you'll find a sweet girl who likes you back." She told him, smiling a little, thinking of one girl in particular.

Ryosuke took a deep breath, repressing his feelings about that situation. He didn't fully understand the avatar state....but knew enough to know that it was like humanity in a way...but it wasn't a human form, just a program with human traits....it disgusted him in a way. He nodded, pushing those thoughts away. "More for your sake than his." he gave, in reference to the respect part. "And what makes you say that?"

Midori waved her hand, more or less saying 'whatever.' She wasn't sure if Ryosuke didn't like Jin because of his personality, and just didn't like him as a person, or if it was because of the avatar part. It wasn't like she thought about the avatar part much; she knew enough about the subject, and knew that when they got him out of the Hyper space - because they would and she refused to admit otherwise - he would be physically broken. But, it didn't matter much to her. She liked him, and that was that.
"Let's call it a woman's intuition?" She said, tilting her head a little, smiling even though she still felt horrible. However, she was a good enough actress that he didn't need to know that she did, both because she was sick, and because she had never noticed his feelings for her, even though she really couldn't have done anything about that part.
